...some thoughts on a new year

as we welcome a new year
and say good-bye to an old...
i get mixed emotions.

it is bitter sweet.

to sit and draw upon all
that happened in one year.

to think about lessons learned...
the easy way and the not so easy way.

to recognize friendships made
and some broken.

to mourn loved ones lost and
celebrate loved ones gained.

to witness dreams realized and
patiently waiting upon those still to be birthed.

it also can be SO exciting.

thinking about starting fresh,
having a clean slate, dreaming new...

writing down goals or resolutions
or in my case focusing upon
ONE WORD to really breathe life
into in 2011.

my choice for 2011 is
"SIMPLIFY".
as i started to really think about
what my word would be...
this one kept speaking to me
 louder and louder and louder.

i need to simplify in all areas of my life.
(starting with my closet!!!)

wishing you all
BIG DREAMS COMING TRUE,
 MORE LOVE THAN
YOU CAN STAND AND JOY ALL
THE WAY TO THE LAST NUMBER.
salute 2011

  3. I know you can do whatever you put your mind to my beautiful friend. I also know that simplifying means to hold on to only the things that are real and true and make your life better-thats what our friendship is <3
It's just plain and simple and true and real. I love you K. Happy New Year! xoxoxo

  7. I love that your little scketch has the girl holding the words simplify. it appears to me that as the year goes on she will be pulling that word closer and closer until it resides in her heart.

  8. Ha - great minds think alike - "simplify" was my first runner-up word! In the end, I chose another, which i will reveal later today, but if you read my post, you will see that I am being forced to simplify in many ways anyway, so it's all good. Love your thoughts here, your "simplify" girlie and your new baby too!!! And yes, we need to get together in 2011 for sure!!

  17. I love the new year for that feeling of a "fresh", "clean" start to things. Makes me very happy. Your word - I love it! I could use some simplifying too. Hmmm, I could probably use 4 or 5 words... see look, I already need to simplify! Just stick to one. :)

May your 2011 be VERY blessed!
