SAY WHAAAAAAAT WEDNESDAY AND I'M FEATURED!!

it seems like it was just Wednesday and here we are....back again!!!!

so lately i have been thinking quite a bit about dreams.
not the kind we have when we're sleeping
(although i did have one about George Clooney the other night....
and i did NOT want to wake up!!!)
but the kind that we have for our lives.
the dreams and hopes we have
for not only ourselves
but for our children,
our friends, our family.

so that is what brought me to this question....

DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT YOUR ANSWER WAS (AS A CHILD) TO THAT SO OFTENLY ASKED QUESTION
"WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP???"
and if you do....
IS IT THE SAME AS WHAT YOU ARE DOING TODAY
OR WHAT YOU ASPIRE TO DO???

Please share....are we truly "awake" to our dreams???

and secondly....i am featured here
by the lovely and super talented Lindsay.
I was so flattered that she wanted to feature me
on her blog and interview me!
Her questions were so much fun to answer...
I hope you all stop by and take a peak!!!
It truly made my week so much brighter!!!!
Thank you Lindsay!!!

sending love and cheers to your dreams (George Clooney and all!!)
xoxo

  1. Yay for Kolleen! So cool to be featured, soak it in! Thinking on my childhood...I used to want to be a detective, and I was just remembering the other day that I wanted to write a little book of poems. I ended up in the medical field(dental assistant) but I'm working on getting back to my creative side.
    Happy Wednesday!

  2. When I was little I used to collect business cards. I loved the different letters and designs on them. AND...I became a graphic designer when I grew up. Also when I was little I wanted to be a private detective (used to play Charlie's Angels). This is something I ALWAYS wanted to do so three years ago I got my private investigator's license. So I guess I became both of the things I wanted to be when I grew up. I must be on the right track. :)
Love reading your blog and miss seeing you!

  3. I am definitely doing what I dreamed to do when I was little - teaching and creating art [though I had no idea it was my dream job]. Of course the teaching is not in a classroom and is a 24/7 occupation and the painting is rather for fun than income, I am so happy the road I chose led to this life :)

  4. Congratulations Sweet Kolleen! Sure got a chuckle from the George Clooney dream. Always such a joy to visit your Sunny Site! Hmm..in answer to your question of the day. When I was young there was nothing I wanted more to be than a wife and mother. The Lord let me become both, but also utilized my caretaking skills in the medical field for a while.

But I can now confidently tell you that I'm precisely where I'm supposed to be..in my Art Studio. The sweet smell of Oil and Turpentine over-shadows the smells of hospital corridors ANY DAY of ANY WEEK. You see..God knows what He Has Planned for you, even before you fully realize it yourself. I always wanted to study art but had to wait on God's Perfect Season before it completely unfolded.

Kolleen, would you believe I began writing this comment four hours ago. Had to stop during the previous paragraph because a call came in from my husband. He had just been involved in a three car accident on his way home from work.

Praise God nobody was injured, but our Camry has now been determined a total loss. Can't believe I just shared this in an open-comment. Stress..it does strange things to folks down here in Georgia.

At least I'm finding humor in what remains. And all I have to do is look around and see I've still got plenty to smile about.

Blessings, Love and Wednesday Sunshine, Terri

  5. Woo hoo!! Love that you got interviewed and love your articulate and inspiring answers!! It was a joy to read and I am proud to know you and call you my friend, Ms. Heart-Wing-Sister. And how cool about your dream (no, not the George Clooney one, although that's pretty cool, too!)

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a scientist. I had the best bug collection ever seen by my 7th grade life science teacher. Instead I ended up teaching special needs kids, which, for the most part, was a satifying career. Still figuring out what's next....

As always, great question!! Happy, happy hump-day!!

  6. When I was growing up I always wanted to be a teacher. I used to play "school" with my brothers. It is not what I am doing today. I wonder if I would be happy doing it. I used to work in a day care center with three year old and I loved it. Now I sit behind a computer screen.

  9. Well, I had a dream this week that I was dating Andy Samberg from SNL and I was suppose to try to set my Husband up with Tina Fey. Ha ha It was pretty fun. I am living my dream right now of being a stay at home mom. That is what my mom was and I always wanted to be like her. I wonder if Rose will want the same. I just hope our country stays free and strong so they will have the same choices when they grow up.
I will have to check out your interview! Say hi to Clooney for me. :)

  10. I remember when I was 5 I wanted to be the owner of 500 cats and dogs! Lol, it's true. Now I have just 2 cats & they're more than enough! Funny how things change ;P

  11. oh what a fun dream....george clooney....hubba hubba!!
congrats on being featured on the blog...i'm off to read the interview now....:-)

yes, my dreams....i think they lay dormant for so long, not really knowing that i could even be an artist. and i thought "how dare i think such a thing"....so many of those childhood thoughts and dreams are actually starting to emerge even more now that i finally had the courage to make the first step. and one of the most important steps was traveling to the coast to meet such wonderful people like you.

    love you sweetie

  12. What a great question!! When I was a little girl I wanted to be a school teacher just like my mom. I played school (had my own little blackboard) every day and I think that got it out of my system. Now, my sister is a school teacher and I am an artist. I prefer it that way...

Wonderful feature on beautiful you and your beautiful art!! Much love to you!! Silke

  14. That's a LOVELY interview Kolleen . . I enjoyed getting to know you a little better and also getting to see more of your artwork. Your voice really comes through in your paintings and hearing you talk more about the "why" of it makes it even more meaningful.
